Eef Siemelink
Eef Siemelink studied civil engineering in Delft. After working in Austria as a self-employed structural engineer under the name Everts Engineering, Eef Siemelink founded Firma Siemelink in Delft, which later moved to the more centrally located city of Utrecht.
In 2014, Firma Siemelink adopted the trade name ‘De VerbouwingsConstructeur’.
Structural checker for building structures
For the municipality of Delft, Eef Siemelink checked submitted building structures for structural safety.
Association of Timber Structural Engineers (Vereniging voor Houtconstructeurs)
This association discusses projects and new developments in timber construction. Eef Siemelink regularly attends its meetings at the Jaarbeurs.
Steel Construction Association (Bouwen met Staal)
This association discusses projects and new developments in steel construction. Eef Siemelink regularly attends its meetings.
Solar Power Plant Association (ZonneKrachtcentrales)
Eef Siemelink is a member of this association’s technical committee (see www.zonnekrachtcentrales.nl). He is researching the optimal support for large parabolic troughs. Having already done similar calculations for LNG storage tanks, he can put that experience to good use for solar power plants, which could make these supports considerably lighter in future. For this contribution, Eef Siemelink received the encouragement award at the sixth Groene Bilderdijk conference.
TU Delft alumnus
As an alumnus, Eef Siemelink receives monthly updates on technical developments at TU Delft. This enabled him, through Utrecht local politics, to get a new space-saving wastewater treatment plant built in Utrecht. The space it freed up is now used for around 100 homes.
Project management through the Oud Proteus-Eretes business club
Through this association, Eef Siemelink keeps in touch with former Delft rowers who are also self-employed. For one of these contacts, Paul Hamm, Eef Siemelink was project manager for the construction of a cold store.
Wim van Oudheusden
Van Oudheusden is an architect. He also holds a civil engineering diploma from a Dutch technical college (HTS). He can survey buildings quickly. Together with Eef Siemelink, he developed plans for the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn to convert a former military complex to house municipal services. Van Oudheusden works on a freelance basis.
Lecturing at a university of applied sciences
Eef Siemelink taught mechanics and concrete, steel and timber structures; Van Oudheusden taught management.
