Non-destructive measurement of insulation value
If you measure the difference between the indoor air temperature and the inside surface temperature, and also measure the outdoor temperature, the insulation value of the construction can be calculated. Siemelink did this with a suitable thermometer, so the client learned the existing insulation value without having to open up the construction.
